Luzhou liquor industry, starting from Qin and Han dynasties, rising in Tang and Song dynasties, flourishing in Ming and Qing dynasties, and now realizing development in New China, together with Luzhou Laojiao Company of the same origin, enjoy the reputation of famous liquor enterprise with Chinese traditional brand. The present Luzhou Laojiao Company is a large-scale backbone brewing group developed from the basis of 36 ancient brewing workshops in Ming and Qing dynasties.
As the cradle of Chinese strong aromatic liquor, Luzhou Laojiao of a long history, has stood out from Chinese liquor industry for much distinctive superiority. It has the 1573 national treasures cellars, which were the first established cellars, (in 1573AD), the best-preserved and continuously longest-operation brewing cellars in our country. In December 1996,it was firstly listed as a national cultural relic protection unit in liquor industry by state council. In 2006, it was listed in “world cultural heritage tentative list” by the state.
In May 2006, as the only representative of strong aroma liquor, “the traditional brewing technique of Luzhou Laojiao” was listed in “the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list”, and it became the first enterprise with the title of “dual national treasures”. As one of the four famous Chinese liquors, Luzhou Laojiao Tequ liquor was awarded the golden medal on the 1915 Panama Pacific International Exposition. At the 1952 National liquor testing conference, it was confirmed as the typical representative of strong aromatic liquor, which was the only one to won the “famous Chinese liquor” for five times in succession. The registered trademark “Luzhou” was one of the “first national ten famous trademarks”. In 2006, the trademark “National Cellar” was the only one in its field to win “famous trademark of China”, and in 2008, the trademark “Luzhou ancient distillery” was again awarded the famous trademark of China, thus making Luzhou Laojiao become the only enterprise to win three famous trademarks of China.
The company has abundant resources, such as 10084 ancient cellars, in which 1619 cellars are over hundred years. In recent years, it is accelerating the establishment of infrastructure, facilities, human resources system and management system. The original liquor storage is planned to extend from 80,000 tons to 200,000 tons, and the modernized package throughput has achieved 150,000 tons, which is possible to reach 500,000 tons by the construction of Luzhou liquor industry developing zone. There are two “Chinese brewing masters”, five national level liquor tasters, hundreds of brewing technician, and powerful management, scientific and marketing human resources, all of which has formed the “Luzhou Laojiao human resources paradise”.
